Meet the Speakers

Rev. Nate Shurden
Rev. Nate Shurden is the Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Franklin, Tennessee. Nate received his masters from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, Nate serves as an adjunct professor at New College Franklin and a visiting professor at Reformed Theological Seminary. Nate has been married to Christy for twenty-five years and they have five children.

Dr. Richard D. Phillips
Dr. Richard D. Phillips is the Senior Minister of Second Presbyterian Church in Greenville, South Carolina. He is the author of fifty books and frequently speaks at conferences on the Bible and Reformed Theology. Rick served in the U.S. Army for thirteen years and holds degrees from the University of Michigan, the University of Pennsylvania, Westminster Theological Seminary, and Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Sharon, have five children.

Dr. J. Ligon Duncan III
Dr. J. Ligon Duncan III is the Chancellor and CEO of Reformed Theological Seminary and the John E. Richards Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology. He is also currently serving as President of RTS Jackson. He served as Senior Minister of the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Mississippi, for seventeen years. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He has edited, written, and contributed to numerous books. Ligon and his wife, Anne, have two adult children.

Dr. Kevin DeYoung
Dr. Kevin DeYoung is the Senior Pastor at Christ Covenant Church (PCA) in Matthews, North Carolina, and associate professor of Systematic Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary, Charlotte. Kevin holds an M.Div. from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and received his Ph.D. in history at the University of Leicester (UK). He is the author of more than twenty-five books. Kevin and his wife, Trisha, have nine children.

Rev. Dr. David Gilbert
Rev. Dr. David Gilbert is the pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Douglasville, Georgia where he has pastored for the past twelve years. David is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary. He is also a visiting professor of Homiletics at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. David has contributed articles to Tabletalk, The Gospel Reformation Network, and Reformation21.org. David is married to Michelle, and they have four daughters.

Dr. Ian Hamilton
Dr. Ian Hamilton teaches Historical and Pastoral Theology at Westminster Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Newcastle, England, and serves as an adjunct professor at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Greenville, South Carolina. He is the author of many books and a commentary on Ephesians in The Lectio Continua Expository Commentary on the New Testament. He is married to Joan, and they have four children and six grandchildren.

Dr. Mark Ross
Dr. Mark Ross is the First Presbyterian Church - John R. de Witt Professor of Systematic Theology and Associate Dean of Erskine Seminary Columbia. With over forty years of pastoral and teaching experience, Dr. Ross is a much sought after speaker and lecturer. He is also the author of Let's Study Matthew. He is married to Connie, and they have two children.

Dr. Jonathan Gibson
Dr. Jonathan Gibson is an ordained minister in the International Presbyterian Church, UK. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge and he presently serves as professor of Biblical and Systematic Theology at Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia. He is married to Jackie, and they have four children.

Dr. Derek W.H. Thomas
Dr. Derek W.H. Thomas is a native of Wales, and is the Chancellor’s Professor of Systematic and Pastoral Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary; a teaching fellow for Ligonier Ministries, and is the interim Provost at Reformation Bible College, Orlando, Florida. He was previously senior minister here at First Presbyterian Church. He has authored over thirty books and contributed to many others. He and his wife, Rosemary, have two grown children and two grandchildren.

Rev. David Henderson
Rev. David Henderson is from Nashville, Tennessee, and graduated from Western Kentucky University. Since coming to First Presbyterian Church in 2015, he launched the College Ministry and the Young Professionals Ministry and now serves as Minister of Discipleship. He has a Master of Divinity degree from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina. David is married to Sarah, and they have three sons and one daughter.
