Church Planting

Taking the Gospel to Every Corner of Columbia, and Beyond

First Presbyterian Church desires to be a sending church that is active in using the resources God has given us to work towards fulfilling the Great Commission. We believe that planting and multiplying new local churches around the Midlands is the most effective and strategic way to reach new people, new generations, and new demographics.

A New Church in Lexington, South Carolina

Lexington is one of the fastest growing cities in South Carolina, and is ripe for new churches committed to proclaiming the gospel and establishing an incarnational presence for the Kingdom of God. First Presbyterian Church is committed to sending a core group of our own members to plant a new, reformed, Presbyterian church in Lexington. We have called Pastor Jeff Tell to lead this new work, and are currently gathering the core group whom we will commission and send.

If you live in or around Lexington County, we encourage you to be a part of this new work. Contact Pastor Tell for ways to be involved, or join the core group meeting on Sunday mornings at 10:00am, in Room 201 in The Bridge.
Jeff Tell has over 15 years of experience in pastoral ministry. He has served as the Senior Pastor of churches in both South Carolina and in Los Angeles. He takes great joy in seeing how God uses ordinary people in ordinary churches to do extraordinary things. Jeff is married to Aubrey, who works part time as a Family Physician in Lexington. They have four children: Judah, Naomi, Ezra, and Leah.
