Library Information

Our libraries are available weekdays (Monday - Friday) and Sundays. Books, magazines, CD’s, and DVD’s are offered for check out. Procedures for check-out are posted in both libraries.

The Book Service

Located in the Coffee House of The Bridge and in the Atrium of Jackson Hall, offers books for purchase related to the teachings of our church for children and adults. A payment envelope is enclosed in each item to mail or to place in a secure metal box in the Coffee House, Church Library, to mail, or to place in the offering plate. For assistance contact the Church Librarian.

First Things

First Things is our weekly newsletter published and mailed, or e-mailed, to all church members. It can also be viewed online on the church website, using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Issues published since January 1, 2014 are archived. Articles for First Things can be submitted by email to FT@firstprescolumbia.org. The deadline for submissions is noon Tuesday.

The Audio Ministry

The Audio Ministry and Russell Dunbar provide a CD of the 8:30 a.m. Sunday sermon after 11:00 a.m. in the Narthex of the Sanctuary with a payment envelope for $4 each. 

Radio Broadcast

Radio Broadcast of our 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship service can be heard Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. air time on Columbia station WISW 1320 AM.

Live Broadcast

Our Sunday sermons are broadcast live.

Sunday Bulletins

Current Sunday Bulletins are available online.

Sermon and Lecture Podcasts

The Church Website has provided sermons and lectures, at no charge, since 2006 for listening and for downloading in the MP3 format.

History of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbia

  • The oldest congregation in Columbia, South Carolina, our church was organized on June 4, 1795.
  • The Archive Room of the church is located on the first floor of the Palmer building.
